High-value vehicles sit in the categories PPnBM was designed to tax, so combined assessments can exceed the car’s own CIF value. The final figure is determined by Direktorat Jenderal Bea dan Cukai.

Is my car insured during shipping to Bali?

Three separate assessments — bea masuk, PPN and PPnBM — are each calculated on CIF value under the car’s HS code. PPnBM exists to tax high-value vehicles; on a six-figure car the combined assessment can exceed the vehicle’s own CIF value. The final figure is determined by Direktorat Jenderal Bea dan Cukai, never by us.

A licensed broker prepares a written indicative calculation against your actual VIN, specification and engine size — dated and caveated. We never quote a fixed rate from a blog post, ours included.

Bali’s tropical humidity attacks leather, veneer and electronics, so we specify desiccant packs, moisture-barrier wrapping and, if your garage is not ready, climate-controlled storage in the Kuta–Badung corridor.

Marine insurance is the second pillar: all-risk, agreed-value cover that pays the value written into the policy, not a market estimate argued after a loss — bound before sailing and covering port handling and the Java-to-Bali leg.

Uncleared cargo accrues storage and demurrage at port daily, so the clearance file is complete before the ship docks, not after.
